South African court postpones Henry Okah’s trial

 The South Gauteng High Court today, January 30, 2012 postponed the terrorism trial of Nigerian-born Henry Okah until October1, 2012 after he appeared in court in Johannesburg. Prosecutor Shaun Abrahams requested an adjournment until October 1. Okah is accused of masterminding two car bombings in Abuja on October 1, 2010 (Independence Day) where 12 people were killed and 36 injured. He was arrested in Johannesburg the following day.

Kudirat Abiola’s murder: Major Al Mustapha, Shofolahan sentenced to death by hanging

Al Mustapha  A Lagos High Court sitting at Igbosere today, January 30, 2012 convicted Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, the former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State General Sani Abacha and Alhaji Lateef Shofolahan over the murder of Kudirat Abiola, the wife of the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election, Chief Moshood Abiola. The accused persons have been sentenced to death by hanging. Justice Mojisala Dada of Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere delivered the judgment.
